A couple years ago I tried a Sony A6000 mirrorless camera, and was pretty happy with the results, but wasn't ready to make the switch at that time.
One of the problems I've had with going mirrorless is that my sponsor, Tamron, did not have any macro lenses for mirrorless cameras.
I checked to see if they had any zoom lenses for mirrorless cameras that would focus into close up range, which is mostly what I do.
They told me they had an 18-300 lens for Sony or Fuji which has a close focusing range. So, I said, send me one with Fuji mount.
I decided on a Fuji X-T30 II which run $899.
Ordered the camera body from Hunt's Photo and should have it tomorrow but will have to wait for the lens to come in from Tamron, hopefully next week.
So, I'll see how it works out. Maybe I'll be selling it if I get to frustrated with the learning curve. :)
